• Notes

  The given name Frederica Magdalena is extremely unusual. The Mathias Pfeil family of Graben in Baden-Durlach emigrated to Pennsylvania and settled in Old Warwick Township. Mathias had a daughter named Frederica Magdalena, baptized in 1711, who married Lorentz Bechtle prior to emigration. Might Bechtle have died and she next married Jacob Hegi? Lorentz Bechtle is listed on the passenger list of the Ship Dragon in 1732, whose passengers qualified on 30 September 1732. However, Bechtle only appears on List A where is identified as "sick." He did not sign List B or List C. Plausible theory--but not direct proof or supporting evidence beyond speculation.
