      William SMITH Esquires's Will
      Dated 14 November 1806 and proved 17 December 1806.

      In the name of God, amen! I William Smith of Earl township, in Lancaster County,
      & State of Pennsylvania, a justice of the peace, being weak in body, but of
      sound mind and understanding, (blessed be God for the same). but considering the
      uncertainty of this transitory life do make and publish this my last will and
      testament in manner and form following, to wit, Principally, and first of all, I
      commend my immortal soul into the hands of God, who gave it; and my body to the
      earth to be buried in a decent and christianlike manner, at the discretion of my
      executors herein after mentioned, __ And as to such worldly estate wherewith it
      hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give and dispose of the same in the
      following manner, to wit,

      I give and bequeath unto my good and loving son William Smith, five pounds,
      together with half my wearing aparrel and half my boks.

      I give and bequeath to Dianah SMITH, daughter of my son William SMITH, the sum
      of ten pounds, and to his wife and each of his other children, the sum of five
      pounds.

      I give and bequeath unto Reachel DAVIS, dauter of my well beloved dauter Mary
      Amelea HENDERSON, dec'd, five pounds in full of all legacys out of my estate.

      I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter Hariet SLOWENS, dauter of my well
      beloved dauter Sarah SLOWENS, ten pounds.

      I give and bequeath unto my grand son William WALICE, son of my well beloved
      dauter Lydia, the sum of five pounds.

      I give and bequeath unto my well beloved sun Edward SMITH, the house wherein I
      now live, together with the lot thereunto belonging; together with half my lot
      of ground, adjoining lands of Janes MARTIN, Robert McCURDY, and others;
      particularly that part adjoining Robert McCURDY to be divided in tow equal
      shares, from the great road to James MARTIN's line; and also three acres of my
      mountain land adjoining Michael HILDEBRAND, William CASLOTS, and others, to be
      taken off the east or west end as he may choose; for which he is to pay to my
      estate the sum of six hundred pounds. I also give and bequeath unto my son
      Edward, the other half of my wearing aparel, and half my boks.

      My will is that my executors sell the remaining part of my estate real and
      personal, as soon as may be convenient, to the best advantage.

      My will is that my tow dauters, to wit, Margreat and Rebeca, receive one hundred
      dollars each, and also each of them tow beds, one of which shall be good and
      new.

      I give and bequeath to my great grandauter Elizabeth DAVIS, dauter of Edward and
      Rachel DAVIS, the sum of three pounds.

      I hereby confirm the above mentioned property willed to my son Edward his heirs
      and assigns forever.

      My will is that the moneys cuming from son Edward, together with the sails of my
      property not otherwise disposed of, shall be divided equally amongst my five
      children, to wit, Edward, Saragh, Margreat, Lidya, and Rebaca, share and share
      alike.

      And lastly, I nominate, constitute, and appoint my son Edward SMITH and my son-
      in-law John WALICE, to be the executors of this my last will. Hereby revoking
      all other wills, legacies, and bequests, by me heretofore made; and declaring
      this and no other, to be my last will and testament.

      Lancaster County Jst, on the 17th day of Decr, anno domini, 1806. Before me the
      Subscriber, personally appeared Gabriel DAVIS, Abraham DeHAVEN, and George
      THOMPSON, the three subscribing witnesses to the within will, who upon their
      corporal oaths, according to law, did depose & say, that they were present & saw
      & heard William SMITH, the testator therein named, sign, seal, publish,
      pronounce, and declare the within writing, as and for his last will & testament,
      and that at the doing thereof, he was of sound and well disposing mind, memory,
      and understanding, to the best of their knowledge, observation, and belief.

      Be it remembered, That on the 17th day of December, anno domini, 1806, The last
      will and testament, of William SMITH, late of Earl township, in the county of
      Lancaster, deceased, was proved in due form of law, and letters testamentary
      thereon were granted to Edward SMITH and John WALLACE, the executors therein
      named; they having first been duly qualified well and truly to administer the
      estate of the said deceased, especially to exhibit a true and perfect inventory
      thereof, into the Register's office at Lancaster, within one month from this
      date; and to render a true and just account of their executorship on said
      estate, in one year, or when thereto legally. Given under the seal of said
      Office.
